ABOUT OUR CHEF

With his dark good looks and terrific food, Ed Baines is one of the hottest chefs in Britain with Randall & Aubin, the champagne and oyster bar in Soho as his flagship restaurant.

Classically trained, Ed worked in some of the world’s most exclusive hotels, luxurious yachts and top ranking London restaurants like Bibendum, The River Café and Daphne’s before starting his own fleet of restaurants and gastro pubs.  Ed’s cooking repertoire is varied, from classical French to traditional British.

He’s well known on television for being a regular co-presenter on UKTV’s Great Food Live, a frequent guest on Daily Cooks and Saturday Cooks, and appearing on Ready Steady Cook. As well as his cooking skills he’s an excellent speaker on food issues and has been guest contributor on The Daily Politic discussing current food related topics.

He’s a popular guest at consumer shows like the Ideal Home Show, giving demonstrations of cookery and was one of the celebrity chefs appearing at the 2005 Skills for Chefs Conference in Sheffield.

His first book Entertain was published by Kyle Cathie in 2001 and he has been profiled by a raft of newspapers and magazines, including The Sunday Times, Evening Standard, Fresh and Time Out. He also contributes to food magazines BBC Good Food and Olive.

In October 2004 Ed travelled to China to demonstrate British cookery as part of a project with BBC World Service and in 2005 made a series of films in Arizona for UKTV Food.
