MANGO CHICKEN - HELP

As I just watched a re-run of Saturday Kitchen where Mary Berry makes some delicious looking mango chicken. But I was wondering how would it come out if I did basically everything the same she did and just replace the mango with I don't know a pineapple? The thing is nobody likes mango at our house so, I was just wondering ;).
If you have any tips on the matter please let me know!
