SLOW COOKED BACON JOINT

Folks, i like to cook my bacon joints in my slow-cooker for obvious reasons. Beautifully tender and done when I need it!
However, do any of you good folk out there have any tips on reducing the salty taste of the bacon?
I do steep the joint but it still turns out too salty?

i find that 24 hours befor i cook my joint. i put it in a large pan of cold water and every hour rinse it out n repeat. hope this helps
